Danny Rampling

UK producer and DJ Danny Rampling was one of the first Superstar DJs and remains a true pioneer and visionary of the global dance scene. Through his legendary Acid House club Shoom in the 1980s and his Radio shows with BBC Radio 1 and Kiss FM, Danny became a catalyst that helped to shape the UK dance scene right from the early days.

Danny Rampling has sold over a million compilation albums making him a household name and has picked up many awards as well as regularly being on TV documentaries for National Geographic, the BBC, and MTV because of his unrivalled for his music knowledge and expertise.

Danny Rampling’s legendary DJ residences at places in Ibiza at Pacha, Amnesia, and Privilege, has cemented him into the White Isle’s history books and continues to tour the world with his unique blend of classic and new wave House, Acid, and Techno.

Ever since getting the accolade of Number 1 DJ in DJ Mag’s first ever poll Danny Rampling continues to be at the forefront of the music scene.

Shoom, his Acid House club brand from the 80’s, has been reignited featuring legendary acts like Derrick May and Dj Pierre alongside new up and coming Techno artists like Saytek Live, Analog Kitchen and ILONA. Shoom is touring worldwide in clubs like Paradiso in Amsterdam, and landmark nights in London have gained much recognition and features from Mix Mag, DJ Mag, The Guardian, ID Magazine and GQ Magazine, to coverage on BBC’s Newsnight for the 30th anniversary in 2017.

‘Ibiza ’87’ will be on our screens soon in form of a TV show that is written by award-winning screenwriter Irvine Welsh, who wrote Trainspotting. This will tell the story of the birth of Acid House and Rave, and is loosely based around Danny Rampling, Nicky Holloway, and Paul Oakenfold. It will chronicle the beginnings of the rave movement, from the trio’s fateful Ibiza trip in 1987, to the second Summers of Love form 1988-1989.

Danny has written a best selling book ’’ Everything You Need To Know About DJing & Success’ and runs his own Music Consultancy business for film soundtracks and fashion show music. Digital compilations under Rampling Digital through Mastermix, and a ‘Shoom' Compilation on CR2 Records is in the pipeline for 2019.

Forthcoming studio co- productions with Steve Mac, Robert Owens and featuring the writer Irvine Welsh are on the horizon, plus another exciting music project that will be released in 2019.

2017 Danny has been appointed as a member of the Mayor of London music committee as a consultant and most recently featured in the Sky TV’s The Agony & the Ecstasy Spanning 30 years, and BBC 4’s ‘How Dance Music Conquered The World’ documentary series which explores the history of Rave culture and Dance Music in the UK.
